We're Going Streaking!

The Whitecaps have won four in a row after tonight's victory over the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. Sitting right next to the dugout, we could feel the excitement. Graham and I recorded our broadcast of the game because there was no wireless internet (which is also why there were no real time tweets).

The Whitecaps struggled through June after a hot start to the season, but the team has really clicked in the last week. The roster is finalized, the offense is alive, and the pitching has been good out of the windup and the stretch, early and late, starters and relievers.

Tant Shepherd got his first 2 RBI as a member of the Whitecaps, and they were the difference in the game. Stayton Thomas came in for his first appearance with the bases loaded and one down, but he struck out the first batter he saw, and forced a ground out to end the inning.

Here's the box score to the game.

The Whitecaps challenge the Chatham Anglers tomorrow at home. That game was originally scheduled to be played on Monday, June 22, then was rescheduled for Tuesday, June 23. The games were rained out both those days, as were all other Cape League Games. Instead of facing Chatham when they were at their best, they will host the Anglers, who are now losers in seven of their last 10 games.
